Engineering Overview: Staff Rust Low-Latency Matching Engine & Custody Security Engineer
Our matching engine runs as a single-threaded, pinned-core state machine in Rust over ring-buffered event logs, avoiding heap allocations and mutexes on the critical order path. Profile L1/L2 CPU cache misses on order book limit trees, maintain ultra-fast WebSocket/FIX binary parsers, and harden HSM signing enclaves.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain high-throughput Rust subsystems centered on Tokio, io_uring, rustls.
- Eliminate mutex contention and unnecessary serialization copies across internal RPC and storage boundaries.
- Collaborate asynchronously with senior systems architects across Worldwide Remote.
Qualifications & Total Rewards
- Proven systems engineering background in Rust, including deep knowledge of io_uring, rustls, Prost.
- Ability to reason from first principles about CPU cache lines, I/O bandwidth, and distributed consensus trade-offs.
- Transparent pay band: $190,000 to $265,000 USD base salary, equity ownership, and hardware stipend.
