Technical Context & Problem Space
Engineer ultra-low-latency Geyser plugins, QUIC transaction forwarders, and petabyte-scale archival block storage in Rust.
Processing 50,000+ state updates per second requires bypassing standard RPC serialization. Our Rust Geyser plugins stream raw account mutations directly out of validator memory into compressed NVMe/RocksDB clusters. Every microsecond saved on the hot path translates directly into lower hardware footprint.
Key Engineering Deliverables
- Optimize QUIC stake-weighted QoS packet ingest, eliminate lock contention in AccountsDB, and build high-throughput gRPC streaming indexers.
- Harden distributed state machines and I/O pipelines written in QUIC, eBPF, RocksDB, io_uring against network partitions and disk faults.
- Build deterministic benchmarks and chaos tests that catch regressions before production rollout.
Candidate Profile & Compensation
- 3+ years writing performance-critical systems software in Rust (with production exposure to QUIC and eBPF).
- Solid grasp of virtual memory, page caches, thread-per-core scheduling, or modern hardware interconnects.
- Annual base band: $210k - $295k USD (Worldwide Remote), paired with equity and async-first remote workflows.
